What can I do to help?
STEPS TO FOLLOW:
-
SPREAD THE WORD: Wear a green circle pin to your school/workplace/faith group, etc. The green circle is the symbol of the climate strike and wearing it shows you support climate justice. By wearing the pin, you have joined the movement!
Green circle pins can be easily made at home by cutting out a green felt circle and attaching it to clothing using a safety pin.
-
TEAM UP: Get everyone in your workplace to wear a green circle. Through encouraging others to wear this pin, you are making the movement visible and sparking conversation to help it grow!
Organize your school/workplace/faith group, etc. to attend the strike together. It's easier to act when we don't feel alone! You may be surprised by how many people are feeling the same way and how receptive they are.
During our larger strikes, businesses and non-profits can consider sending a delegation or closing their doors to direct people there. Schools can book school buses and attend collectively (some schools have already done this!)
-
PROMOTE OUR EVENTS: Send an invitation to your loved ones, your co-workers, everyone you know, explaining why you support what we are doing and ask if they will join you in attending the event. By inviting your network, you are utilizing one of the most powerful ways to meaningfully engage people; friendship.
-
PARTICIPATE IN OUR ACTIONS: Join us and hundreds of others at our various actions! In the past we have planned strikes, concerts, and conferences. Stay tuned and connected to see what is being planned next!
The number of people in the street is the most important indicator of our collective power. By attending our strikes, you are sending the message to our governments that we are all done waiting for climate action!
If you want to do more, youth can attend our Tuesday planning sessions and adults can attend MEJC Tuesday sessions!
